I'd say most of the other reviewers have it about right.the surf is steady and more subdued than other recordings (for instance, Scott Wyker's Waves, another favorite). The tide pool waters do trickle more loudly than you'd expect, as if you were sitting in a chair right by them as you relaxed to the sound of surf. I, however, found that to be very unique and relaxing. With headphones on, it sounds as if the water is even sometimes pouring around you. This is a great recording and well worth the price.
For some reason, any CD of the surf we've bought gets after your nerves after about five minutes and is no longer relaxing. I don't know what it is about surf CD's. When we go to Hawaii we always rent a house right on the ocean and we sleep to the sounds of the surf all night. It's almost as if they record a minute or two of surf and just keep repeating it over and over. This one was better than most, but it still annoys us after a while.
Had previous cassette tape of surf sounds and needed same on a CD. Great for relaxing pre-sleep after stressfuls days (hurricane, economy, etc).
I bought this for my kids something to go with quiet time.it's very relaxing. Recording seems so real as if I am actually on the beach.Served the purpose of relaxation.
Great Cd for relaxation. Soft, repetitive surf sounds and wave action, no blaring foghorns.
